At The Torre Cristina Hotel in Noja from June 6 to 12
The artist Lika Shkhvatsabaia participates in the prestigious SIANOJA XXII Symposium, an art and culture meeting that has been organized every summer since 2001 in Noja (Cantabria) and that turns the town into the showcase of national and international contemporary art.
SIANOJA is a symposium of coexistence and work of visual artists, with the premise of bringing together for at least 10 days Spanish and foreign artists, from different cultures and countries, from various generations and diverse artistic visions and expressions of any style and approach, as well as multiple development supports for them.
SIANOJA is also an event open to all artistic expressions, so each year during its celebration, different activities are carried out, presented by their authors, artists or specialists in the subject to be dealt with, giving space to literature, philosophy, poetry, dance, cinema, music, performance, etc. Each year a parallel programme of activities is prepared open to the general public between 7 and 9 pm. The public can learn about and experience first-hand the process of creation and evolution of a work of art and attend talks and conferences by renowned artists or art critics and sponsor presentations.
For the selection of participants, as always, the organisation has sought powerful creators, from different languages, artistic disciplines, origins and generations who can offer a broad vision of contemporary art. With a large female majority, 6 of the 7 participating artists are women, a surprise for everyone because it was a coincidence that such a predominantly female group emerged and the organization was happy about it, precisely because it had not been favored or sought, that they were selected for their genuine expression of today's art.
The selected artists are: Lika Shkhvatsabaia. Natalia Auffray, Sara Calivi, Isabela Lleó, Elisabeth Bell, Basia Flores and Iván Araujo
The Georgian painter Lika Shkhvatsabaia, linked to abstraction and the world of Chagal, whose work expresses her emotions and universe directly linked to the sea and the landscape of Noja, works alongside the selected artists, enjoying the space and environment offered by the SIANOJA Symposium.
SIANOJA XXII, takes place from June 6 to 12 at the Hotel Torre Cristina in Noja, its headquarters for five years now.
She was delighted to receive Sianoja's invitation to participate in this edition. “But I never imagined what I would find. It is wonderful to work in this environment and with such magnificent artists. I am very happy,” says this Georgian creator who has lived in Madrid for eight years. She says she has a happiness that is reflected in the work she is preparing and that “comes from everything that the nature of Noja is giving me,” a landscape that has led her to combine figurative and abstract strokes in which the sea and time predominate as the main theme …
