The DEARTE Medinaceli Foundation will inaugurate the exhibition Secret Landscapes by Lika Shkhvatsabaia



The DEARTE/Medinaceli Foundation DEARTE presents the painting exhibition, SECRET LANDSCAPES, by the Georgian artist Lika Shkhvatsabaia. An exhibition organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Georgia and curated by the international curator, Judith Cuba. The opening will take place on Saturday, October 5 at 6:00 p.m. at the Ducal Palace of Medinaceli.

Art delves deeper and provides light, reveals states of the soul where reality is sometimes hidden under an apparent truth, or is hidden among the nuances only perceptible through the mediation of the artist. The Secret Landscapes collection connects painting with emotions, explores the landscape linked to memory, touching on themes that speak to us of life, of family memories, of geographical landscapes, of travels through foreign lands, of intimate landscapes, of literature and music, and of the manifestation of desires and chimeras. Each work is a unique visual poem, constructed with subtle images imbued with a silent mystery, narrated with the verses of universal poets of all times, including Georgian authors that the artist has rescued to give voice to her painting.

The exhibition is made up of medium and large format works in which Lika Shkhvatsabaia presents her latest works and where she fuses traditional and mixed techniques channeled through abstract expressionism, figuration, color and matter; a combination of unique contemporary aesthetics that transcends the conventional and is a gift for the eye.

It should also be noted that Shkhvatsabaia has a solid professional career and has lived and worked in Madrid since 2014 where she has developed several important projects that have added new chapters to her brilliant career, being recognized and awarded in prestigious international art competitions.

Those who visit the exhibition will enjoy a detailed journey because each creation is a journey into the unknown, a place to explore and discover. An evocative experience that will leave a mark on the viewer's memory.
